He does not talk about the winter he spent up there, or what he agreed to in order to survive it. He is quiet, watchful, and unfailingly polite to things other people cannot see. When the pact wants something, his eyes go somewhere else for a moment — and then he is back, and the eldritch light is already gathering at his fingertips.
